COVID-19 UPDATE (as of January 17th, 2022)

Obviously, things are not quite the same right now on Maui. The information below reflects the Paia we know as of this update. Currently, restaurants and shops are slowly opening up in the safest manner possible. Please check their individual websites and Google My Business updates for new store hours and pickup/delivery/sitdown options.

The Town

Since the 1970s, Paia Town has gotten plenty of recognition as the laid back, surfer hippie town of Maui. While most people breeze by on their early morning drive to explore the Road to Hana, we recommend taking the time to discover one of Hawaii's coolest small towns.

Coffee

Although Paia Town consists of only one main road, there's enough people watching to make it worth your time. Grab a cup of Maui coffee and fresh baked scone at Paia Bay Coffee Shop before taking a walk to Baldwin Beach Park to enjoy breakfast and a view as the clouds roll in over the West Maui Mountains.

Shopping

For those interested in shopping, Paia offers a great assortment of Maui made products, including jewelry, swimwear, clothing and household accessories. You'll find shops with wonderful selections of organic, local food and beverage choices and along with ready-made picnic lunches, perfect for enjoying a day at the beach or Road to Hana lunch on-the-go. Browse work from some of Maui's most talented artists at one of the many art galleries, including Maui Hands, Cesere Brothers, and Maui Crafts Guild.

Restaurants

If it's ono grinds you're after, don't miss the crepes and live music happy hour at the charming Cafe Des Amis, duck fajitas at Cafe Mambo or Choice for a burrito bowl.

Activities

For the more athletically adventurous, try a fusion yoga class at the newest Paia favorite, Infusion Yoga, or head up the road to Ho'okipa Beach Park for world famous windsurfing.

 

Just don't feed the hippies.
